Haere mai ki te tono mo tetahi tuunga i te Kaunihera o te Taone o Otautahi.The Linwood/Woolston community has celebrated the start of construction work on the eagerly-awaited Te Pou Toetoe: Linwood Pool, with this important community hub due to open in late 2021. As the Swim Education Team Leader, you will be responsible for delivering the Swimsmart and Swimsafe programmes at Te Pou Toetoe: Linwood Pool, along with streamlining the customer practice. It’s essential that you have a sound expertise of swim education as you will be setting the standard for the Swim Education Instructors and providing them with continuing training and support, so a significant qualification and industry practice is a must-have. We hope you thrive in a busy environment because there will be plenty of hustle and bustle at Te Pou Toetoe. When Information technology comes to logistics, systems, process and staff, they will be looking to you to ensure we are offering the best customer practice. Day to day you can expect to get involved in timesheets, finding cover, keeping track of the students’ progression, and meeting and greeting schools. Our leadership abilities team is well balanced, bringing plenty of creativity, character and technical skills. No matter your age or background, swimming has a place for everyone. We want you to be confident in your capability, mature in personality and have a firm but fair approach, remembering that customer focus, communication and being an approachable mentor for your team is a priority. From time to time, you may be required to hop in the water and teach a class, but we’re guessing that won’t be a problem. Especially when you see the look on a child’s face after they succeed with something they have been struggling with for so long, you get a kick out of those moments of success. Te Pou Toetoe will include a 25 metre lane pool, a deep water pool for “manus”, a family spa pool, a lgain to swim pool, a toddler pool and a water deck.
