About us
Education Infrastructure Service (EIS), a part of the Ministry of Education, manages the Crown’s second largest property portfolio of around 2,100 schools with a book value of $19.6 billion, the largest payroll in the country, and transportation of over 100,000 students to and from school each day.
Our vision for school property is that all schools have quality learning environments as part of a well-managed and sustainable portfolio that helps deliver equitable and excellent results for every child.
About the function
You will be providing advice and support for the management of a portfolio of schools over the short, medium and long term to meet continuing and future educational requirements.
Your Key Priorities will include the following:
   » Establishing and maintaining effective relationships and trust with a broad range of stakeholders including schools and teams within the Ministry of Education and EIS
   » Resolution of complex issues in an environment of competing demands and priorities
   » Working with individual Schools to develop an asset management plan so they are effectively managing and maintaining their school property and infrastructure
   » Working collaboratively across the team to share technical knowledge and practice with others so all portfolios are well supported and there is consistent delivery of service

About you
To be prosperous in this function you will need to be an amazing people person and be an excellent communicator with proven expertise in building and managing strong, effective relationships. Your capability to understand your audience, their vision and motivations is critical. You will be able to adapt your communication style to be able to effectively deliver a range of messages to a variety of people.
You will also offer:
   » Problem solving – have the capability to apply a variety of approaches to deal with problems or identify options to achieve great results
   » capability to manage and prioritise competing demands
   » Resilience – The capability to bounce back from challenges and to refocus on the work at hand
   » significant professional qualification or practice such as asset management, project management, property management or construction
   » A full, current, and clean driver’s licence
