Listing description Tironui Music Trust Programme Manager
This is a part time (0.5 FTE) salaried position working approx. 20 hours per week to manage the Tironui Music Trust Programme and lead ourteam of eighteen tutors within our ten partnering Papatoetoe and Mt Wellington primary and intermediate schools, reporting to the Tironui Music Trust Board. The position is available from 26 April 2021 and no later than 1 June 2021, with succession support of 8 hours per week through to 9 July 2021 from the outgoing Programme Manager.
Principal TMT Programme Manager Job responsibilities:
Management:
   » To ensure the smooth operation of the Trust activities, meeting the Trust objectives as communicated by the Board and the Trust's core documents.
   » To lead the planning and direct the operational activities of the Trust's eighteen tutors, liaising with tutors to ensure consistency of approach and outputs between the groups.
   » To facilitate the efficient and effective running of the Programme within the Trust's ten partnering schools, managing core relationships with and between tutors, school personnel and outside organisations.
   » To source and contract staff as required to service the educational needs of the Trust, setting and managing the teaching timetables across the TMT Programme.
   » To work closely with the Resource Coordinator to manage the instrument resource of the TMT Programme.
   » To design, manage and supervise external performance events and activities to support the continuing health and development of the programme results.
Administration:
   » To control expenditure within Board-approved annual budgetary guidelines, where necessary requesting of the Board that Information technology accommodates changes to the Budget if this would materially improve the Trust's performance.
   » To authorise expenditure and payments to then be processed by the Trust's secretariat.
   » To develop and manage continuing documentation to support the efficient running of the programme.
   » To work as required with the Board on fundraising initiatives.
Reporting:
   » To report to, and contact closely with, the Tironui Music Trust Board Executive Chairperson who is ultimately responsible for the drafting and management of the annual budget.
   » To provide regular reports to the Trust Board outlining progress made and impediments faced by the Trust in achieving their yearly goals as set out in the annual TMT operating plan.
Strategy:
   » To work closely with the Chair and Board-nominated musical advisors to the Trust.
   » To participate in the preparation of the Board's annual operating plan.
   » To help promote the work of the Trust.
Other tasks as required to support the effective running and success of the TMT programme.
Key competencies required:
   » Developed organisation and time-management skills
   » Developed communication skills - verbal, written and inter-personal, taking into account cultural contexts as required
   » Developed Project and/or Programme management skills
   » Proven excellent budget management skills
   » Excellent leadership abilities skills as well as the capability to work as part of a team and independently
   » knowledge of music teaching and performing
   » A full unrestricted driver's license and access to own car
Ideal practice required:
   » Team leadership abilities
   » Excellent general administrative skills
   » Classical performance practice and skills
   » practice teaching in a group learning environment is essential
