This position is responsible for providing clinical leadership abilities, engagement, coordination of services and change management skills to support the improvement of infant wellbeing with a focus oin equity of results.

this function requires a strong inter-agency approach with the focus on im proving early engagement with midwives and services such as smokefree, antenatal/parenting education, breastfeeding, immunisations, social services and Well Child Tamariki services.

Working within the frameworks of maternal and early childhood services this function requires confidence, knowledge and consciousness of both health and social services available and accessible to whanau. This is a dynamic function that can provides leadership abilities across infant wellbeing and oversight across both District Health Board and Community sectors to achieve improvement in infant wellbeing and reduce poor infant health results.

Specifically the function will work across two key functions:
* SUDI avoidance
* Well Child Tamariki Ora Quality Improvement.

Key Accountabilities:
* Advocate for infant wellbeing
* Implement & support the SUDI avoidance plan
* Deliver education on SUDI avoidance
* Project manage & drive quality improvement activities

this function is most suited to an practiced mid-wife or a health professional who has worked closely with mothers and babies, particularly from a diverse population and has an knowledge of the Maternal & Well Child frameworks and can educate.
