About the functions:
To help achieve the Capital Projects works programme for infrastructure projects We are seeking for qualified professionals across practice levels with a focus on, but not limited to, transportation and civil projects. To be prosperous in these functions and depending on your years of practice, you will possess excellent stakeholder management skills, and be able to influence external consultants and contractors to deliver these outsourced projects. You will provide project management oversight for capital and renewal projects managing consultants and or contractors ensuring completion is on time, within budget, scope, and quality.
What you will bring:
As a proven Senior Project Manager possessing more than 6 years of practice in managing and delivering your own projects from within the infrastructure, engineering, capital works, client-side, or consultancy environments in New Zealand. You will bring a high level of technical design and engineering skills and project management to the team. You will have been prosperous in managing projects delivered by contractors, able to understand engineering designs, drawings, and reports, able to produce quality reports and have the availability to work across a breadth of technical projects. You will support Project Managers through mentoring, and coaching as they look to develop their careers.
We would also welcome applications from Project Managers who have a minimum of 1-2 years practice in Civil Engineering and Project Management, looking to develop their careers through working on public sector projects. You will have knowledge of commercial contracts, and possess the desire to build up and develop your technical competency to understand and produce some engineering designs, drawings, and reports to a high level, along with good computer skills including civil design, administration, and knowledge of construction codes/standards. You will be given all the support and development you need to execute tasks with strong mentorship and growth opportunities internally.
You will possess excellent communication and relationship management skills as you will be representing Council all over the project's lifespan to delivery. Therefore you must be able to influence the delivery of projects through engagement with external parties. You will be highly motivated and possess a positive attitude to contribute to a wide variety of projects, underpinned by a significant tertiary qualification and practice in Civil Engineering and a Project Management qualification.
