Te Pou Theatre is a kaupapa M?ori Performing Arts venue for all and a prolific presenter of M?ori theatre in Auckland. We believe in the mana enhancing power of storytelling and the importance of community spaces where everyone can connect with te ao m?ori through the arts.

Next year we will open the doors of our newly built whare at Corban Estate Arts Centre in Henderson, T?maki Makaurau. We are seeking for a Kaiwhakatairanga to join our small and dedicated team to be a k?k? wahanui for Te Pou; sharing our venue and productions and growing our wh?nau at this exciting time.

The Offer
We are offering full time or part time employment (minimum 20 hours per week), depending on what the person brings to the function and their needs. Contracting is also an option.
The remuneration for this function is between$60,000 and $70,000 per annum (pro-rata for part time) + Kiwisaver.

The Mahi
The Kaiwhakatairanga mahi will be engaging and varied including marketing, sales, design, website, communications and audience development. The function will work across the whole team, from productions to fundraising, helping to communicate and promote Te Pou Theatre.The Kaiwhakatairanga function will need someone who is a clear and compassionate communicator, who thinks outside the box and is inspired by M?ori performing arts.

The mahi will include:
   »
Marketing and advertising shows with Te Pou Theatre
   »
Communications with our venue hirers, audiences and community
   »
Kaimanaaki for new hirers and community to Te Pou Theatre
   »
Managing the content of our Website (wordpress - tutorials given)
   »
superviseing the design of Te Pou communications with graphic design work required
   »
Working with the kaihaut? to deliver our marketing and communications strategy ?Te Karanga'
We are open to other options such as job sharing so please don't hestiate to contact us if you are keen to work part time only, or feel your expertise need support in some areas.
Ideally the Kaiwhakatairanga will bring:
   »
Competency with reo M?ori and an knowledge of tikanga M?ori
   »
Strong communication, relationship management and interpersonal expertise.
   »
Previous practice in promotion and communicating with the public
   »
practice with marketing content creation, graphic design social media, Mailchimp, Canva / Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office. We also use PatronBase CRM and will provide training.
   »
practice with working to tight deadlines and quick turnarounds.
   »
Initiative and self motivation, and enthusiasm to the mahi.
