Ko wai m?tou? (Who are we?)
Te Kotahitanga o Te Atiawa (Te Kotahitanga) is the post settlement government entity (PSGE) for Te Atiawa Iwi located in Taranaki. Established by the Trust Deed in 2014, Te Kotahitanga is responsible for managing Te Atiawa treaty settlement assets for the benefit of iwi members.
Te k?inga rua (The opportunity)
Having established ourselves deep within the community, Te Kotahitanga are in an exciting growth phase. We have a number of significant projects on the horizon and We are seeking for additional Pou Taiao (Policy Analysts) to join our wh?nau.
We have two vacancies within our team and are interested in hearing from Planners, Policy Analysts, Resource Management practitioners and Environmental Management practitioners across all skill levels, with particular interest in intermediate and senior practitioners .
As a member of the environmental team, you will play an integral function in shaping the future landscape of Te Atiawa. A landscape that will serve the Te Atiawa rohe and people of Te Atiawa for future generations.
Te t?ranga (the function)
At its core, you will drive the development of policies and plans to help guide our iwi, hap?, marae and wh?nau. Providing sound advice across policy, environmental and resource management matters, you will be responsible for developing reports and memorandums, evaluating and informing consents, drafting submissions and assisting with the implementation of environmental projects.
This is not your typical 9am - 5pm desk job. You will be out in the community building significant relationships with our hap?, marae and wh?nau, ensuring they are engaged and understood. At times you will be required to attend hui outside of your normal working hours, but this is all part of getting the mahi done.

He k?rero m?u (About you)
You will be motivated by the function you will play in contributing to positive and significant change. You will have proven practice in your field and will thrive in a collaborative environment where you are required to focus your energy and attention across multiple priorities. You will have highly developed problem-solving expertise and a natural capability to build genuine and lasting relationships with all.
An knowledge of tikanga M?ori is essential and fluency in reo M?ori is preferred. If you are not fluent in reo M?ori you will have a genuine desire to embark on this learning journey, one which we will assist you with along the way.
A significant qualification, in-depth knowledge of the Resource Management Act 1991, practice with resource management, resource consents, environmental management, policy development and/or plan making, and good project management expertise are essential.
