Registered Nurse - Ward and Day Stay UnitJob location:Wellington Rest of Wellington Region Work Type: Permanent » » » »Full time »Morning and afternoon tea provided »Subsidised health insurance after 1 year About the company This private hospital performs a wide variety of diagnostic, interventional and surgical procedures; and prides itself on delivering outstanding care and results. They are at a very exciting phase in their journey. With new investors, the hospital is expanding, and is seeking staff to run new theatres and exciting new ventures. About the function You will be caring for child and adult patients undergoing minor and major procedures across the range of specialties who are admitted to Ward and Day Stay areas, which are staffed by the same team. The 12 bed Day Stay area caters for day cases (mostly eye, dental and small orthopaedic procedures) several days a week. The 29 beds in the main ward are configured mostly as single rooms. Four two-bed rooms are used for parents rooming-in with children, and a four-bed room for quick turnaround cases. Patients will be having planned surgery involving a wide variety of systems and procedures and mix of high turnover and longer stay. Although this function suits nurses with a strong surgical background, the very practiced and friendly team make Information technology a supportive environment for nurses entering or returning to practice or taking up surgical nursing as a new focus. Nurses are rostered to cover morning and afternoon shifts. We have permanent night staff, and as most patients are discharged by the weekend, infrequent weekend shifts can be negotiated to fit with other commitments.
