City Gallery has a reputation for challenging and innovative exhibitions-presenting New Zealand artists alongside major international figures.City Gallery Wellington is seeking an Exhibitions Registrar to provide professional management and care of art, cultural and heritage objects and effective delivery of exhibition registration services for City Gallery Wellington. Reporting to the Director Exhibitions and Project Delivery and working closely with the Gallery Exhibitions team and curators you will research the availcapability of artworks and prepare and record loan documentation. Continually working towards exhibition changeovers you will coordinate the inward and outward freight of artworks while having responsibility for arranging insurance, the safe handling, packing/unpacking, movement and storage procedures of a variety of contemporary art mediums. You will have practice and be comfortable working with artists making new work for Gallery shows. During installation and deinstallation you provide hands on assistance to the Exhibitions team. You will be proficient in writing condition reports for all incoming and outgoing art works. practice in methods of artwork presentation, conservation and preparation, in addition to the capability to monitor environmental conditions will make you a valuable asset to the Exhibition and Project Delivery team.
