About our group and team
The Teacher Supply team is about having the right teachers in the right place at the right time, across NZ and is part of Education Workforce which sits within Early Learning and Student Achievement (ELSA). Teacher Supply is responsible for developing a Teacher Supply strategy and supporting suite of initiatives. We design and deliver a suite of national level measures needed to address both the immediate, medium- and long-term gaps between the demand and supply of teachers. We are also responsible for the Prime Minister’s Excellence Awards Programme.
We identify and manage the teacher supply risks that arise as a result of changes to policy direction and the economy. We work closely with all teams within Education Workforce, as well as across the Ministry and work closely with the early learning and schooling sectors.
About this function
We have a requirement for a Reach and Engagement Senior Advisor to cover parental leave for a minimum of six months (possibly a bit longer).
You will:
   » Working with a creative agency partner, lead the development, design, implementation and evaluation of Teacher Supply marketing campaigns
   » Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders on campaigns that are significant to specific teams and keep them informed of each stage of the campaign from inception to evaluation
   » Engage external stakeholders in the development of campaigns significant to their sector – including the bulletins
   » supervise and keep point on all EW teams’ spend and campaigns, as the budget sits with Teacher Supply
   » Ensure appropriate approvals and validation
You’ll have the backing of a friendly, supportive, knowledgeable team, where you can further develop and broaden your expertise and practice.
About you
We are seeking for Somebody with tenacity, who is proactive and passionate about promoting teaching as a career and understands how effective marketing supports results You will need to have solid planning and organisational expertise and the capability to be flexible and pragmatic. You will need to be truly agile in your approach and be able to use your initiative.
Being friendly and approachable, with excellent relationship building expertise are important qualities when Information technology comes to effective internal and external stakeholder engagement.
To be a contender for this opportunity you will likely bring the following:
   » A marketing/comms background (qualification or hands-on practice) with strengths in campaign development/delivery
   » The capability to establish relationships, build credibility and take a collaborative approach with internal stakeholders
   » Great communication (written and verbal), problem-solving and an capability to deliver results
   » High levels of organisation and an capability to prioritise and plan.
   » The capability to be flexible due to the reactive nature of marketing.
   » A real interest in the New Zealand workforce and belief in people becoming teachers as a career option
   » The capability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangatawhenuatanga
