They are a small team of 5 members spread between our Architecture and Interiors office in Auckland and the new gallery in Arrowtown. We are seeking for a gallery sales associate to sell new international art and design pieces unique to New Zealand and assist in managing our boutique Arrowtown gallery. Previous retail practice a must, with a passion to sell art and design to a specific clientele and audience. The prosperous candidate will be responsible for maximising sales opportunities, meeting sales targets, building relationships with customers and clients, while maintaining gallery image and practice, products and operations. The function is a key support in the running of the gallery. We aim to be a welcoming space, greeting all domestic and international visitors - a background in customer service is important. The main tasks of a gallery adjunct are: Administration » Arranging and assisting with national and international freight of artworks » Storeroom management: clean, tidy, SAFE » Noting stock movements and keeping an up-to-date inventory of stock » Filing Gallery Technician » Wrapping artworks » Packaging artworks for freight » Assistance with hanging/installation and de-installation of works for exhibition » Painting and wall maintenance before and after exhibitions Computer Use » Microsoft Word and Excel » Website management » Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign) » Social media (Facebook and Instagram) accounts » Use of Database Website » Updating Artists works and bios » Managing each artists page to be an up-to-date representation of their work » Uploading; artworks, exhibitions, and artists Sales » Sales targets » Sales follow ups » Sales practice » Customer management candidates must be currently living in Queenstown/Arrowtown and have tjhe right to work in New Zealand.
