Job Opportunity: Pacific Projects Lead:UniofOtagoJob description:Job DescriptionPACIFIC DEVELOPMENT OFFICEWho we are Our office is the University of Otago’s strategic office, responsible for implementing and monitoring the progress of the Pacific Strategic Framework. The Office was established in November 2013 following the endorsement of the Pacific Strategic Framework by the University Council. The Framework outlines the University’s commitment to meeting the needs of Pacific Peoples and supports the further development of activities that promote improved rates of access, retention and completion among New Zealand students of indigenous Pacific descent. The function We are pursuing a new staff member to join our team to support the progress of our strategic directions. In this function you will lead and manage projects as well as report on the Goals and Activities prioritised through the Pacific Strategic Framework. Utilising your leadership abilities expertise and advanced project management expertise you will provide high-level assistance to the Director of Pacific Development. expertise and practice To be prosperous in this function, you will have an knowledge of issues and trends as they relate to Pacific Peoples and the Pacific Strategic Framework goals at the University of Otago. You will also have: » A tertiary qualification. » practice and competence working with Pacific peoples. » Sound knowledge of the tertiary and compulsory education sector. » Excellent verbal and written communication expertise, including practice in writing reports. » Skill in planning and managing a wide variety of projects and clients simultaneously. » High attention to detail coupled with the capability to work strategically. » Commitment to developing collaborative working relationships with colleagues and to supporting the University’s M?ori, Pacific, and Sustaincapability strategic frameworks.
