The whakapapa of Te Korowai Atawhai, Mercy Hospice began with the call from the w?hine M?ori of T?maki-makau-rau, to which the Sisters of Mercy responded in 1849.
Today, our mission and values have their roots in the work of these T?puna w?hine – to ensure that all those in our community needing palliative care, receive Information technology with the utmost professional skill and respect. We are committed to ensuring our hauora (wellbeing) services are equitable and delivered in ways that meet the diverse needs of our patients and wh?nau, reflecting our values of:
   » Tapu o te tangata (dignity)
   » Aroha (compassion),
   » Whakanui (respect),
   » mahi rangatira (Quality) ,
   » Aroha ki te rawakore (advocacy), and
   » Kaitiakitanga (stewardship).
A Pacific Liaison function has long been established within our wh?nau and we are evolving how we might enhance this for the future needs of our Pacific wh?nau. Your story could be part of ours; could this be the call for you?

   » Contributes to practices that promote equity, challenging inequity.
   » Contributes to the development and quality improvement initiatives of Mercy Hospice services.
The COVID-19 Public Health Resources (Vaccinations) Order 2021 requires all workers who work in the health and discapability sector to be fully vaccinated. This includes facilities such as Mercy Hospice where vulnerable patients are treated.this function will be included within this order, and the prosperous candidate will need to be fully vaccinated.

Mercy Hospice is an industry leader and has been delivering specialist palliative care for over 40 years. Information technology has a 13-bed in-patient unit and a community nursing team providing patient-centred palliative care to approximately 1200?people.
Our mission and values have their roots in the work of our founder, Catherine McAuley of the Sisters of Mercy in Dublin, Ireland. In the tradition of this heritage, we love working with people from all life stages, every culture, race, creed and orientation. In fact, the hospice flourishes today because of our staff, volunteers and benefactors, who continue to uphold and live out our mission and values.
