About our group and team
Te Mahau – Te Tai Runga (South) is a frontline group. Our frontline groups collectively provide leadership abilities and integrated services to the sector and others. This includes services such as learning support and education advice and regulation functions for schools and early learning services. We do this through coordinating and delivering responsive solutions in order to realise the local education priorities and goals.
About this function
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Lead Advisor Network in this newly established position. Working closely with our community stakeholders, you will be responsible for providing strategic advice on the structure and design of our school network as well as collaborating with internal teams to support planning and implementation.
Some of your responsibilities will include engaging with significant groups to identify changing needs within the schooling network, using network information to identify trends and risks to support operational planning and prioritisation of work across the region, informing the Education Network team of sector insights and supporting regional change initiatives. This will include specific priority project work, such as supporting education growth in Queenstown and Wanaka.
About you
Ideally you will have worked in a similar position where you have had some practice working across multiple stakeholders, supporting change processes or planning work. You will have strong relationship management expertise, be a confident communicator and have the capability to apply a strategic lens to your work. practice in the development of district plans or evaluating data on population growth would be an advantage.
You will also offer the following:
   » practice building strong working relationships with multiple stakeholders
   » practice interpreting data (statistical and demographic) and providing insights in a significant way
   » Ideally some practice with project management/planning expertise and an knowledge of project management methodology
   » practice engaging with iwi would be advantageous
   » The capability to build a good knowledge of the wider regional environment
   » The capability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangatawhenuatanga
