Scottfresh harvest vegetables through all seasons at our different outdoor production sites at the Conway Flat and Spotswood in North Canterbury. Please visit www.scottfresh.co.nz for our full company profile. We are pursuing a permanent, full time Harvest Coordinator who will be located in North Canterbury. You don’t necessarily have to have practice in horticulture to be prosperous in this function, but you will need to be hands-on, self-motivated and driven by the idea of building and maintaining a safe, positive and productive workplace culture for the in-field harvest teams. Maybe you are looking for outdoor work opportunities outside of the dairy industry? A significant part of your function will be to work alongside the seasonal (backpackers) and permanent in-field teams. You will thrive on getting the absolute most out of your team from working alongside your team. Getting your wet weather gear on and getting into the field will inspire you. This is not an office-located function and will not appeal to someone who desires to be a full-time tractor and machinery operator. You will be someone who takes pride in all the equipment used around harvest, ensuring that the everything is clean and in order. In this function you will be trained to understand the vegetable crop that we are harvesting and you will begin to take ownership of the harvest process, which may lead to further responsibilities. Scottfresh can offer a very attractive remuneration package, including a company vehicle, along with accommodation and housing options. Initially you will be reporting directly to the owner. You will also take ownership for the welfare of your team, advocating for your team. You will also, over time, have input into the improvement of the harvest process. The harvest co-ordinator will work alongside production, dispatch and other staff and will be required to positively contribute and support the wider Scottfresh team to achieve overall company objectives and results. You will spend your time working in the beautiful coastal micro-climate of the Conway Flat and amongst the hills near Cheviot.
