Awarua Wh?nau Services deliver Kaupapa M?ori services that provide for wh?nau wellbeing by servicing their social, health and educational needs, primarily to the Bluff, Invercargill, Rakiura and other areas all over the takiwa of Murihiku. Information technology is the social and health arm of Te Runaka o Awarua, which is one of the 18 Papatipu Runanga of Te R?nanga o Ngai Tahu. Awarua Wh?nau Services has been delivering services to iwi for more than 25 years, working with wh?nau to achieve a positive and healthy change – H?pai ake to wh?nau ki ng? taumata oranga. They offer services to the community, that are accessible to clients from all social and cultural groups within Murihiku, however are primarily funded to work with M?ori. Awarua Wh?nau services acknowledge and endorse a commitment to partnerships as expressed in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and encourage participation and partnership in the decision-making process. Kaimahi are enthusiastic, dedicated, and passionate about their mahi, working with individuals and wh?nau to achieve the best possible results. Te ?hua o Te T?runga – The nature of the position A position for Kaihaut? – CEO Awarua Wh?nau Services, has now come to market. The strategic intent of this position is to lead and supervise the work of Awarua Wh?nau Services and kaimahi, taking charge for the efficiency of business operations as well as setting future strategic objectives. The overarching objective of the function will be to ensure the financial vicapability of the organisations' activities and to drive sustainable development and long-term success, thus advancing wh?nau ora, affirming positive M?ori approaches that improve M?ori results. You will be promoting M?ori service delivery systems that value health and social service collaboration and implement wh?nau centred models of care. Designing and implementing business plans and strategies, you will collate, analyse, and interpret data to support reports and decisions. Organising and coordinating operations in ways that ensure maximum efficiency, you will set about developing goals and objectives appropriate to enable growth and prosperity against the annual plan. Assuring recognition of service models that address the needs of wh?nau, hap?, iwi and M?ori communities, you will have a strong focus on building and maintaining effective and prosperous relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. You will share your vision, and deliver a roadmap of the journey ahead. Ensuring the governance board Chair is kept updated, you will take people on a journey with you, as you further lead and develop a culture of high performance, where people are engaged, enabled and enthused to do their best, every day. Enhancing physical, spiritual, mental, and emotional health, you will be highly aware you are giving wh?nau control over their own destinies. You will hold a crucial function in assisting in the establishment and maintenance of effective relationships with kaupapa M?ori providers, R?nanga, marae, general practice, and other community agencies. Accountable for the governance of financial, capital and human resources and assets, you will need to be financially prudent, able to deliver advice to Board level, in the form of high level reports and papers, which you will support with robust analysis, accuracy, financial pragmatism and a clear strategic intent. On an operational level you will supervise the function of Mana Wakatipu, Quality Manager and effectively support with kaimahi and the delivery of services, ensuring clinical practice is conducive with M?ori models of care. Ng? tino P?kenga/Wheako – Essential expertise/practices for the function. A qualification in leadership abilities or supervision, Te Ara Reo Diploma or similar will be highly valued, however the capacity to demonstrate strong clinical leadership abilities is essential. knowledge of integration in the local DHB, PHO, MSD and Oranga Tamariki perspectives would be advantageous. You will have the capability to balance innovative and creative thinking with critical and objective analysis, balancing each via a Te Ao M?ori viewpoint. practice, expertise and knowledge required is to include: » broad leadership abilities practice, management of a large organisation supported by robust business and commercial acumen. » practice integrating bicultural and clinical deliverables and skill in shaping and influencing work force change and development. » Skilled in conducting business via both strategic and operational lenses. » Operational knowledge of current trends and issues within M?ori health and social services, supported by a sound knowledge and knowledge of legal and ethical responsibilities. » A track record of success in coaching and people mentoring, with recent hands-on operational management expertise. » Thorough knowledge of diverse business processes and strategy development, with a sound knowledge of research methods and data analysis techniques. » A visionary leadership abilities style, conducts self with integrity, transparency, and honesty. » Well-versed in all matters of quality, compliance, and business, have worked across process improvements, and continuous improvement frameworks. » Risk identification and mitigation capcapability, and skilled in knowledge market trends. » Be performance driven and accept responsibility and accountcapability for the attainment and quality of people performance and organisational » Excellent facilitation expertise and the capcapability to bring people together, the capability to influence, persuade and inspire others to achieve desired results. » Strong knowledge of Te reo me ?na tikanga via connections to iwi, hap? and marae. » The proven capcapability to empower and enhance the mana of others. Active involvement in significant M?ori, professional and clinical groups, and the aptitude to form and maintain relationships with funders, partners stakeholders is a key attribute of the individual in this position.
