TAPAC's key areas of focus are the building of performing arts communities and performing arts education.TAPAC is seeking a qualified accountant with practice superviseing the financial and accounts of a small/medium sized not-for-profit organisation and a good working knowledge of Xero. The TAPAC Accountant will report to the Executive Director and work closely with the Treasurer and Office Administrator. This is a part time, time-sheet located position for 20 to 40 hours per month. Key tasks include: » Preparation of monthly financial statements using Xero » Variance Reporting » Cashflow and earnings Forecasting » Review of AR, AP, Bank, General Ledger » Reconciliations The function will be located at TAPAC, Western Springs, Auckland, with work in the house available. To be prosperous in this function, you'll have: » A passion for people and the power of the performing arts to connect communities, build confidence and enrich peoples' lives » Commitment to working within the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and to working for equity that reflects the full diversity of the people of Tamaki Makaurau » practice working in and an knowledge of the not-for-profit sector financial requirements. » Previous practice and interest in the live performance industry is highly desirable Position Description TAPAC Accountant - The Auckland Performing Arts Centre (TAPAC) Reports to: Executive Director Dotted Line: Treasurer Reporting to this position: Nil Job responsibilities: Month End / Year End » Month-end responsibilities including review of performance against forecasts, budgets and kpi, balance sheet reconciliations & superviseing fixed asset registers. » Preparation of all financial reports, updating of Xero custom reports and add ons. » Preparation of cashflow and earnings forecasts. » Preparing manual journals as needed and approval of manual journals by others. » Approval of fixed asset register entries. » Year-end responsibilities including preparing year end audit packs and assisting with the annual external audit. Annual Budget » Coordinates Annual Budget process, October to November. AR, AP, Banking, General Ledger, Payroll » Review of transactions for errors or omissions.
