The NZSO library team will supervise, guide, and teach you as you lgain the basics of the orchestra librarian profession. The internship will be structured around the preparation of the National Youth Orchestra's upcoming June programmes. The kind of tasks you can expect to undertake include: » Research into editions/availcapability of scores and parts » Ordering/procuring orchestral sheet music » Proofing parts and scores for NYO performances » Scanning parts and scores » Printing/creating parts and scores » Fixing page turns » Marking bowings into string parts » Attending NYO rehearsals and undertaking any required stand fixes for the music What We are seeking for in a candidate is: » Good general expertise of how orchestras work » Excellent expertise of orchestra music » Excellent expertise of written sheet music » A good eye for detail » A focussed and determined work ethic » A quick learner who is unafraid to try new things but self-aware enough to know when to ask for help This is a Wellington-located position, 20 hours per week for 4 weeks, starting Mid-April 2023 and the week of 26th June 2023. The function reports to the NZSO's Music Librarian and Associate Music Librarian. The remuneration is $23.5 per hour plus 8% holiday pay, plus employer Kiwisaver contributions if applicable.
