Senior Policy AnalystJob location:Wellington Wellington Central Work Type: Permanent » » » • Help deliver an ambitious and challenging work programme. • Large Team with lots of room for growth and development • 6-month contracts - $110-120ph The Organisation • This team play a key function in leading complex and impactful pieces of work aimed to progress fundamental policy issues facing tamariki and their wh?nau, from reform work through to development of the Governments UN Response. • Ambitious and practiced Team that has an exciting work programme. • Able to leverage internal and inter-agency resources to deliver complex policy papers. • Topic areas include – children in state care policy, Mental Health Act review, rights for disabled persons, adoption and surrogacy reform. The function • Work closely with the Policy Manager and Principals to lead the team, and work autonomously in leading the delivery of key policy results. • Contribute to the enhancement of the overall capcapability of the business unit, and the wider Policy Group. • Deliver high quality specialist and analytical policy advice. • Good knowledge of the current government context, policy agenda and priorities. • Demonstrates adaptcapability and strategic foresight as the needs and priorities of the Minister and the Ministry change. • Develop and maintain productive and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders. • Work on complex policy programmes and provide suggestions and solutions contributing to improvement results for New Zealand. expertise & practice • Must have full working rights/visa and be currently located in New Zealand to apply. • Competent Senior level policy practice, and keen to continue developing & maintaining expertise. • A strong track record of leading and delivering on policy projects. • broad practice writing compelling policy narratives, and a natural capability to pitch these prosperously to senior audiences/ministers to get the desired outcome. • Quantitative analysis capcapability is beneficial • Keen interest in incorporating M?ori values into work being delivered. • Good knowledge of the Machinery of Government. • A significant tertiary qualification is desirable.
