This client organisation fulfills a very important function in a sector that ensures community, environmental, and governance obligations are maintained. Its success has been achieved in recent times with a committed team of specialists, supported by this key function ensuring the cohesiveness between the group entities.
About the function
this function, Business Services Manager, is essentially the 2IC function, reporting to the CEO. The organisation is of SME size, but the responsibilities of this function transcend many areas of business operations, from the simple administration through to specialist areas, and is responsible for all support services for the multiple entities and functions. The three direct reports fulfill the hands-on functions that this function has responsibility for.
You will work with a broad range of stakeholders, both internal and external, and bring to bear your administration and management skills across a broad spectrum of business activities. This is what makes this function so interesting and varied.
You'll be responsible for the development of new services and initiatives, and bring new opportunities for evaluation by the CEO and Board, to provide services to the stakeholders.
In short, you'll cover the support areas from the operational processes and strategic development, through to organisational capcapability and capacity, team management and programme / project delivery, plus areas such as H&S and HR.
About you
You'll be a seasoned operator, with a broad range of practice in delivery of support services across a number of disciplines. In addition, you'll have some form of tertiary qualification and preferably have undertaken other significant courses and /or studies in your chosen discipline.
You'll also possess exemplary communication skills, both in verbal and written form, be commercially astute, and have practice managing budgets. practice in staff management is important as this function has a strong liaison and people management component.
Furthermore, expertise and practice of working in an Iwi organisation is desirable, as is proficiency in Te Reo, although mandatory is expertise and respect of Maori Tikanga.
