Key tasks include direct communications with the Technical Producer backstage during performances, setting up staging and managing transitions during performances. Recommended previous practice » practice in the performing arts arena would be beneficial » practice working with a variety of school ages in backstage management » Some practice with using ?comms' and working with a Technical Producer would be beneficial Professional leadership abilities » Accountable to the Technical Producer for aspects relating to festival organisation for which he/she is deemed responsible [outlined below] » Support the Music Team and Technical Producer in their aims by providing help and advice on matters relating to stage organisation and all matters relating to seating of performers including the massed choirs in the concert venue » Work closely with the Technical Producer who will pass on the requirements needed from the Musical Director and Music Team for effective staging and venue organisation » contact closely with staff and management at the concert venue regarding staging and equipment required for staging » To be in charge of all staging matters on the dress rehearsal, morning rehearsals and evening performances, in consultation with the Technical Producer Before the event » Attend strategic meetings of the CSMFA Executive closer to the Festival week » Collaborate with members of the exec to organise a minimum of six volunteer stage crew » Liaising with conductors and managers to prep the correct seating and layouts for the musical ensembles » Organising the staging of necessary risers, music stands and conductor platform » Be aware of and implement where necessary the Health and Safety requirements of the venue » Prepping the backstage holding spaces i.e. where the risers, seating and instruments would be kept and how to move them effectively onto stage in the important stage resets. Safety is also really important and thinking through minimising any potential hazards for thecrew. During the technical rehearsals and shows » During the performances to be in constant communication via comms with the Technical Producer in terms of managing stage flow of comperes, conductors and musicians » Managing the large stage transitions / stage resets where everyone is all hands on deck and one person remains on comms so that the Producer can still communicate with the stage » Providing guidance for guest performers (Van Ash and dancers etc), comperes and conductors where necessary.
