Job Offer: Visiting Artist - Multimedia/Filmmaker:Job description:Job detailsOrganisation Massey University Closes 27 Jun 2021 Posted on 3 Jun 2021 Region Manawatu / Wanganui Work type Part time employment Work classification Design, Digital & Technology, Education & Development ShareSchool of English and Media StudiesPalmerston North Massey University, in conjunction with Palmerston North City Council and Square Edge Community Arts (Palmerston North), invites applications to join the School of Humanities, Media and Creative Communication as Visiting Artist - Multimedia/Filmmaker for a 7 week period from approximately 3 September to 22 October. This year we're only considering people currently residing in New Zealand due to restrictions caused by the pandemic. The prosperous candidate will have expertise or practice in digital media production encompassing one or more of the following areas: fiction film, documentary, animation, photography, digital installations, pervasive media design, live art, music or live performance. While the residency will enable the prosperous candidate to set aside much of the time to develop their own work, the Visiting Artist will be required to work with both Massey University students and the community at large. The Visiting Artist will be expected to: » have sufficient time to develop their own work » facilitate a community located continuing project in conjunction with Square Edge Community Arts » deliver one to two lectures/workshops and work with media practice students at Massey University as negotiated. Accommodation and a $6,000 stipend will be provided. The residency also includes an office on Massey's Palmerston North campus, free access to the Massey library, and community-oriented support from Square Edge Community Arts, including a community workshop/meeting venue.
