New Zealand’s best-rated hostel group, Adventure Hostels, are on the hunt for vibrant, engaging & focused individual to help us on a part-time basis. Our Team Members at Adventure Wanaka will aid us as we seek to open our next award-winning property this December 2022 and all over our soft-opening period. this function is live-in only and great quality, discounted accommodation is provided as part of any team member function with Adventure Hostels. 

The position is 12 hours per week and this is split between a 3-day working week
A typical work week with Adventure Hostels will look a little like this:   Monday – Wednesday (10am – 2pm) 
Your home
As a live-in Team Member, your accommodation costs are covered by those 12 working hours per week. You’ll be staying in a completely renovated 4-bed ensuited dormitory, that includes bespoke hand-made beds, ultra comfortable mattress, privacy curtains, reading lights and charging outlets right in the bunk. The room opens out into the centre of the sites’ colourful, flowery courtyard. Wifi and laundry are included. You’ll be sharing this room with our part-time Team Member whom will cover theworking days that you have off. 
We are set to open Adventure Wanaka just prior to Winter 2023, with continuing works to bring the whole site up to a high standard. The hostel comprises of 2 buildings, with one building complete already – this is where you’ll reside along with the 30 or so guests with whom you’ll share a kitchen.

   » Subsidised accommodation at a great rate $210 for central Wanaka. This is settled using hours worked.

   » Free night stays at our Queenstown Hostels, subject to availcapability. 
 The nitty gritty
   » The function encompasses all hostel related reception, housekeeping-centric tasks.
   » You’ll need to provide a great customer practice for all of our guests. Be attentive, social, and generally add positive enthusiasm to the overall atmosphere when not engaged with other tasks.
   » Processing guest check-outs between 10am to 2pm, making up check-out beds with fresh linen. 
   » Processing guest check-in’s between 2pm-4pm and providing late arrivals with a late arrival package, with which to check-in after 4pm. 
   » Responsible for the creation of new, extension and future bookings for guest’s wanting to remain. 
   » You’ll also be responsible for collecting and inputting all Guest data required by Management, and as per our policies.
   » Positively handling enquiries and any issues in person, by phone or email, or requesting the assistance of a manager when unable to.
   » Accurate and honest recording of bookings and payments, taking and processing cash, credit and debit card payments and accurately logging these within our property management system (Ibex Seekom)
   »  Performing of housekeeping tasks, which will include:
– Changing of beds on check-out
– Deep cleans of specific areas of the hostel
– everyday kitchen & bathroom cleans
– Vacuum and mopping of communal spaces
– Washing of all linens using provided washing machines and dryers
   » Completing any additional tasks given to you by your line Manager. The additional tasks may include deep cleaning, administrative or maintenance related tasks. Adventure Hostels will never provide you with any tasks that you would be unable to complete either due to skill or physicality. Training will always be provided when needed.
   » Always try to maintain professional attitude when inside the Hostel, urging Guests to follow the rules and to not encourage any behaviours deemed to be unwanted within the hostel. This also means reporting any discovered illicit activities or behaviours of Guests or Staff to Management immediately. Adventure Hostels do not condone or tolerate the use or storage of drugs on-site.
Please note that when the hostel opens fully, between March-May 2023, there will be additional responsibilities and modifications to working schedules.
