As National Key Account Manager you will be responsible for the everyday leadership abilitiess & overall key account strategy. Currently leading approximately 5 people with planned   growth in the pipeline. This is a customer facing function and requires Somebody with an broad history in account management & more importantly a strong sales mindset with the proven capability in securing large customer opportunities.
this function includes managing, leading & coaching this key account team to retain the existing customer base and grow the opportunity to acquire new long term national customers. You will own the sales pipeline and will work with the team around the sales approach and go to market strategy.
As the National key Account Manager you are the face of the company working closely with your team and across the wider business. The sales scope is open to all facets of this business. You will report to the GM on the Executive team in Auckland. This GM has 4 direct reports that all fulfil quite different functions in the business.
This is a significant national function with the opportunity of a career path for the right person into the senior leadership abilities team. You are keen to develop high performers and are not afraid to also have the tough conversations. You are a well -practised and professional sales leader with proven achievements.
Critical to your success will be:
   » Strong sales management; the capability to motivate, coach & identify sales opportunities with the team. Working alongside individuals to drive success
   » Overview of proposal/tender preparation in conjunction with the team and bid manager
   » Overall responsibility for delivery of Customer KPI's & Resign pipeline programme
   » You will have a minimum of 5 years in a sales management function with medium to large organisations
   » Understand the importance of new business acquisition but also the importance of retention of customer accounts & the value they hold
   » Strong communication & positive people relationships. You are someone who enjoys new relationships & is a natural networker
   » The capability to lead & share information at team & client presentations
   » Strong numeracy and financial knowledge from P+L to account debt management
   » Report preparation and presentation to ensure customer and business requirements
Critical competencies for selection will include:
   » Significant Sales management practice & in particular the proven   capability to secure business opportunity revenue in excess of $500,000 per annum
   » leadership abilities qualities that inspire & motivate. People want to follow you
   » Strong reporting capcapability
   » Performance management
   » Proven capability in managing sales cycles & account management strategies
   » Strong knowledge in numeracy and driving competitive contracts
   » practice in the transport, services or similar sector but open to discussion
   » Confident communicator
   » Some travel but not frequent
   » A significant tertiary business or sales qualification
