Overview
Located alongside Lake Pukaki, Mt Cook Lakeside Retreat has established a reputation for world class luxury lodge accommodation and dining. The Retreat has recently expanded its portfolio adding Moraine Lodge, a luxury wedding and conference venue, and two new luxury villas to its collection.

The function
Your main functions are housekeeping and setting up the villa accommodations and the weddings and events, working closely with the Retreat team; guest relations, ironing and laundry management; assisting in other areas where required. 
You will work closely with the Lodge Services Manager and Lodge adjunct team. Every member of our team focuses on working together and you will enjoy the variety of the function, coupled with the capability to problem solve.

tasks
The function requires the person to have good management expertise, an eye for detail and exceptional cleaning expertise, health and safety, and hygiene techniques. You will enjoy the pressures of tight housekeeping timeframes and being part of the hustle and bustle of weddings and special events.  You will be physically fit and strong with excellent interpersonal expertise.   You will be able to maintain Luxury Lodge standards & code of conduct; have a guest centric approach; attend team meetings; help others out, make and keep promises to guests and your teammates; show guests we value them; be well presented; take pride in your work; maintain security and confidentially; and be relied on for your honesty and integrity.
The Lodge adjunct is part of the Retreat team and will be responsible for tasks as per the roster.
·         cleaning the interior of buildings and the immediate outside areas
·         sweeping, mopping and polishing floors, vacuuming and shampooing rugs, and cleaning curtains and upholstered furniture
·         Ironing and in-house laundry
·         dusting and polishing furniture, fixtures and fittings
·         picking up rubbish, emptying garbage containers, and taking contents to waste areas for removal
·         restocking minibars and replenishing items such as drinking glasses, writing equipment, linen and groceries
·         Maintain the weekly and monthly cleaning schedules for guest accommodations Moraine Lodge; the Wine cellar & observatory; and the Homestead
·         Set up guest accommodation and events as per standards
·         Assist with set up of events as per the event run sheet
·         stripping and making beds, and changing bed linen
·         maintaining kitchens, washing dishes and cooking utensils, and cleaning appliances, cupboards, counters, pantries and floors
·         picking up, sorting, washing, drying, ironing and mending linen and clothes
·         setting and clearing tables, and serving food and beverages
·         taking care of household pets and plants
·         checking in guests and communicating requests to Reservations, answering telephones, delivering messages, and shopping for groceries
·         Demonstrate the concept of Manaakitanga (showing respect, generosity and care)
·         Maintain hygiene of spa pools, sauna and gear
·         Looking after cleaning equipment
·         Front of house when required  
·         Assist with other tasks as required.
this function has a self-management component as follows:
·         Being responsible for the smooth running of the housekeeping function through planning, communication with others in the team, and delivering housekeeping activities to meet the needs of guest bookings.   
·         Assist with managing the provision of non-food guest supplies including but not limited to laundry, flowers, coffee pods, chocolate, pens, notepads.
·         Deliver housekeeping within allocated staff hours whilst maintaining high standards.
·         Ensuring that the Retreat’s housekeeping standards and hygiene and procedures are adhered to.
·         Working well with other members of the Retreat team which includes the chefs, general hands, reservations and events manager, general manager.
·         Monitoring facilities to ensure the high standard of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained
·         knowledge OH&S and emergency procedures
·         Representing the Retreat to Luxury Lodge standard.

   » Pay Rate: located on your practice and performance within the range of $23 – 25 per hour.
   » Minimum Hours: 30 hours per week
   » Accommodation: Onsite staff accommodation may be available and will be considered as part of your renumeration package.
   » Location of Work: 86 Mt Cook Road, Lake Pukaki, Mackenzie Basin, Canterbury.
   » Minimum expertise practice and qualifications for the function: NZQF Level 1 qualification, or compulsory secondary education (ANZSCO Skill Level 5)
   » Must have a Full NZ drivers licence or equivalent
   » Must have the right to work in New Zealand.
