Job Opportunity: National Manager, Strategy and Business Development, Literacy and Learning:Department of Internal Affairs - Te Tari TaiwhenuaJob description:Job DescriptionType: PermanentHours: Full time Job location: Auckland Business Group: National Library Branch: Enterprise Partnerships income: $131,321 – $177,670 We are pursuing an outstanding person for the key leadership abilities function of National Manager, Strategy and Business Development within the Literacy and Learning Directorate a time of great opportunity and change. The Manager will play a key function in the development and implementation of our strategy and priorities across the business, working with the Director and as part of the National Management team, as we embark on a path to achieve our goal of equitable access to library services, resources and support for school communities. They will provide strategic support and advice across the business with a focus on targeted and system level initiatives that enable us to respond to new priorities and needs and strengthen our national contribution to literacy and reading engagement, curriculum support and library services in schools. The Manager will maintain an overview of strategic and business development priorities and lead the development and implementation of appropriate frameworks to support future business development projects, effective collaboration and partnership models and improved use of research, evaluation and insights. They will also play a key function in the management and delivery of a strategic work programme, working effectively with their management team colleagues and senior specialist staff to ensure the right capabilities, processes and supports are in place for success. We are seeking for a talented strategic thinker and people leader who can work collaboratively and flexibly alongside national service leaders to create anintegrated approach and who will bring energy, commitment and outstanding interpersonal expertise to motivate and empower others delivering on our priorities. We are seeking for Somebody with: » Proven practice in a strategic management function requiring effective relationships with staff, stakeholders and partners from multiple organisations. » Proven capability and practice in the prosperous development and implementation of strategy. » Strong organisational expertise to be able to work under the pressure of multiple demands and to operate effectively in ambiguous and complex environments. » Outstanding strategic, analytical and problem-solving expertise. » Excellent communication, influencing and collaboration capability » In depth knowledge and interest in the current and potential contribution of the Library to literacy and learning in Aotearoa. » Commitment to and interest in embedding M?tauranga M?ori effectively within the business. » Proven people leadership abilities expertise Working at the Department of Internal Affairs, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of New Zealanders.
