The AUT Research Office has an exciting opportunity for a Research Engagement Manager – M?ori. this function will support our researchers to engage more effectively with te Reo M?ori me ng? Tikanga, and with M?ori world views and aspirations. Information technology will enhance AUT’s capcapability and capacity to create impact from our research with and for M?ori and assist in uplifting our M?ori research staff. The prosperous candidate will focus on M?ori research engagement connected with external research relationships and external research funding proposals. Ideally, the incumbent will have research engagement practice and be familiar with the research environment and ecosystem in New Zealand. expertise and practice of Tikanga M?ori (M?ori custom), m?tauranga M?ori (M?ori expertise) and Te Ao M?ori (M?ori world view) and Te Tiriti o Waitangi will be required, as well as proficiency in te Reo M?ori. You will have established networks among M?ori research stakeholders and communities and be comfortable working between researchers and groups with an interest in their research. You will have a postgraduate research degree or practice working in a similar function in the education, government or not-for-profit sector. The Research Engagement Manager – M?ori needs to be a great team player, have effective oral and written communication expertise and be comfortable with mentoring and coaching others with different expertise and cultural backgrounds. The capability to also work professionally and effectively with Tangata Whenua and Tangata Tiriti at all levels and positions within and outside of AUT is essential in this function, requiring diplomacy and tack, and suiting a mature and seasoned professional.
