This includes responsibility for modelling complex investment problems, building out databases and working with stakeholders to meet their data modelling, storage and acquisition requirements. A significant portion of the function will involve working with complex spreadsheets and third party systems and moving data between them and a cloud database infrastructure. ACC’s vision is to create a unique partnership with every New Zealander, improving their quality of life by minimising the incidence and impact of injury. As our Investments Data Engineer, you will manage and extend the data management model for ACC Investments that will deliver on improved data relicapability, efficiency and quality, ensuring the architecture will support all business requirements. What We are seeking for from you to be prosperous in this function: » To ensure data consistency, efficiency and internal data transformation is fit for purpose across the investment infrastructure environment, including a deep knowledge of current investment infrastructure, and alternative analytical tools that may provide a more fit for purpose solution » Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholder to develop and manage a data model for ACC Investments that will improve the quality and relicapability of data across multiple platforms to support the Investments team in the management and investment of ACC’s reserves portfolios » Develop Investments data analytic capabilities, leading a team responsible for creating analytical solutions and data visualisation models » Execute, devise and utilise algorithms and models to mine big data stores, perform data and error analysis to improve models, and clean and validate data for uniformity and accuracy » Explore and examine data, enabling smarter business processes and present new insights to key stakeholders in a way that can be easily understood by core users » Contribute to the development of the team and to its reputation as an expert body of knowledge on investment management The function should also focus on discovering new opportunities for data acquisition to augment and enrich current data. The function may lead itself to data visualisation applications, working closely with stakeholders to turn data into critical information and knowledge that can be used to make sound investment decisions.
