New Zealand is a world leader in research aimed at knowledge and reducing agricultural greenhouse gas emissions. The New Zealand Agricultural Greenhouse Gas Research Centre (NZAGRC) is at the centre of this effort. Created in 2009, our goal is to discover, develop and make available practical and cost-effective technologies and practices for our farmers and growers to reduce emissions. To achieve this goal, we invest in and coordinate research that is undertaken collaboratively and that responds to Aotearoa ? New Zealand's unique farm systems and environments. We are an organisation that is committed to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and te ao M?ori in prosperously achieving our goals in Aotearoa. We have long invested in Kaupapa M?ori and M?ori-led research and, thanks to expanding investment from the New Zealand Government - we're growing. Right now, we're looking for a Senior Te Ao M?ori Advisor to join our team and be a part of the climate solution. About you and the function. That's where you come in. The work you do will be critical in reducing greenhouse gas emissions caused by agriculture both here in Aotearoa ? New Zealand, and globally. You'll use your practice and knowledge in te ao M?ori, m?tauranga M?ori, iwi M?ori, Kaupapa M?ori and tikanga M?ori approaches, frameworks, and models to co-develop and implement processes for investing funding in the NZAGRC's M?ori research programme. You will be well-networked and able to build and maintain relationships with a range of M?ori landowning entities and stakeholders which will enable you to prosperously foster long-term M?ori research collaborations, to help define and deliver on our Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations, and to ensure that the wider NZAGRC science programme has strong relevance for the needs of te ao M?ori.
