The Pae Ora (Healthy futures) Bill provides a statutory purpose and framework for recognising iwi-M?ori partnership boards as a vehicle to exercise tino rangatiratanga and mana motuhake at the local level. Iwi-M?ori Partnership Boards will have decision-making functions at a local level, and jointly agree local priorities and delivery with Health New Zealand. They will also be the primary source of wh?nau voice in the system. Establishment of a New Iwi-M?ori Partnership Board (IMPB) to operate from 1 July 2022 alongside Health New Zealand and M?ori Health Authority. Expression of Interest The Toit? Tair?whiti Establishment Steering Group are calling for expressions of interest to form the inaugural Iwi M?ori Partnership Board in Tair?whiti which will be known as the Toit? Te Ora Partnership Board (TTOPB) . Tair?whiti rohe consists of 4 Iwi; Ng?ti Porou, Rongowhakaata, Te Aitanga-A-Mahaki and Ng?i Tamanuhiri. There are a total of seven (7) seats that form the Toit? Te Ora Partnership Board. Four (4) mana whenua seats, one from each of the iwi of Tair?whiti and the other three (3) general seats. The core functions of the IMPB is to ensure the engagement of wh?nau, the voice of M?ori is heard in the new legislation and that locality plans are better designed to improve M?ori Health results for wh?nau. We welcome nominations from candidates who: » Have a sound knowledge of the health needs and priorities of wh?nau, hapu and Iwi within Tair?whiti » Have a strong knowledge and knowledge of the Tiriti o Waitangi and its application in health and at a governance level » Have developed partnerships, relationships, and networks with health providers (Iwi/M?ori and Mainstream), clinical partners and other sectors » Are actively engaged and known participants in Tair?whiti communities » Have a clear knowledge of the function of IMPB in the new health system » Business Acumen - Finance and budgeting practice; and » Have the capability and practice in reviewing qualitative data and reports that supports equitable health services for wh?nau For more information, position description or to apply email your CV and cover letter to Ruby at ruby@trotak.iwi.nz Applications will be considered according to the expertise and practice the Board requires at this particular time.
