   »Greenfields opportunity to shape AUT’s online-by-design portfolio of academic offerings
   »Seeking leaders with practice in development and marketing of online tertiary educationfor this critical inaugural function
   »Full-time position for an initial 5-year term, located in Auckland’s CBD

Become AUT’s inaugural Director of AUT Online
As part of a fresh and energised approach to the future, AUT is busy planning for ‘AUT Online’ – a new co-ordinated, integrated and high-quality platform for a portfolio of online-by-design programme offerings. As we gather momentum in this key strategic initiative, We are pursuing our first Director, AUT Online to provide portfolio leadership abilities and help us make this exciting vision a reality.
This is a unique chance to make a huge impact in this space and set up AUT Online ‘from scratch’. In this greenfields opportunity you will finalise the business case for the development and implementation of the concept, all the way to leading the launch of our ‘AUT Online’ portal. You’ll be responsible for securing resources, then building, motivating, coaching and retaining a highly productive team that co-creates prosperous online programmes and courses with our leading academics; for ensuring excellent online learning practices and support for enrolled students; and for prosperously marketing programmes to prospective students. this function reports directly to, and will work closely with, our Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic: this is a function where you’ll engage with brilliant minds and join a workplace with real meaning and purpose!
Other key focus areas will include:
   » Contribute to the development of a strategy for AUT Online
   » Establish a marketing plan to ensure AUT Online delivers the planned benefits
   » Build strong relationships with AUT leaders and staff across AUT to deliver a significant portfolio of programmes and courses
   » Leverage your knowledge of significant domestic and international online tertiary education markets
   » Effectively recruit, manage and lead staff to deliver AUT Online.

Applications and Key Selection Criteria
To make this strategy and vision a reality, we need an innovative marketing leader in digital/online delivery with a passion for education, who ideally will have set-up a similar initiative previously. We’re looking for the capability to come in at the start of a project like this, set Information technology up, build Information technology and prosperously implement. You’ll deliver AUT Online with optimism, engaging your team and stakeholders for the journey ahead and be comfortable engaging with our academic community and ultimately, exciting our prospective students.
Along with your CV, please ensure to submit a cover letter which explains why this particular function (and AUT) is of interest, and how your practice aligns with the key practice and attributes we’re seeking below:
   » Significant senior marketing practice, including a proven track record of leading specialist teams in a digital learning/online content context. Previous tertiary/online education practice is highly desirable.
   » Expert knowledge of the expertise and technology required to design, create, deliver, promote and support the use of innovative, yet pragmatic, market-leading online learning.
   » Significant practice developing and delivering marketing plans – and proven capability to provide that information in a logical, clear and understandable way for different audiences.
   » Well-developed planning and project management expertise.
   » A collaborative, inclusive, consultative people leadership abilities style combined with outstanding resilience, interpersonal, and relational expertise.
   » A university degree in a significant field is required (e.g. business, marketing, technology). A significant postgraduate qualification is desirable.
   » practice and knowledge of the tertiary sector in New Zealand and/or Australia.

   »Start Date: Early-2024 (to be agreed with the prosperous candidate).
