Education Infrastructure Service (EIS), a part of the Ministry of Education, manages the Crown’s second largest property portfolio of around 2,100 schools with a book value of $19.6 billion, the largest payroll in the country, and transportation of over 100,000 students to and from school each day.

The Infrastructure Procurement team supports EIS and schools to deliver strategic procurement solutions that delivers excellent quality infrastructure and services ensuring we link into our school property vision.
About the function
Reporting to the Group Manager – Infrastructure Procurement, you will be part of the Ministry’s Infrastructure Procurement team.
The function represents a great opportunity for an individual to lead the management and development of the team that delivers ?end to end’ procurement activities for the region. This is a leadership abilities function and development of the team is required, aligning the procurement function nationally.

About you
You are a natural collaborator, leading, mentoring and advising others comes naturally to you. You enjoy developing a great procurement team of professionals. You embrace change, influencing results is one of your strong points.
You will also offer the following:
   » Significant significant procurement practice with a strong knowledge of each stage of the procurement process
   » Proven practice providing leadership abilities and guidance on busy projects and ideally procurement teams
   » Proven practice in managing and leading organisational change
   » A solid knowledge of construction procurement and commercial procurement
   » Strong analytical capability
   » Excellent planning expertise to determine business requirements and future strategic procurements
   » Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management expertise, with the capability to work collaboratively with internal and external teams
   » An analytical mind and commercial nous
   » Proven capability to lead, motivate, develop and inspire your team
   » Tact and diplomacy
   » The capability to deal with problems and make decisions, as well as to think strategically and laterally
   » Resilience
Ideally you will be eligible or working towards Associate Member (Level 4) of CIPS and/or a significant tertiary qualification in Business or Accounting.
