Addiction Practitioner – Social Housing Services:
   » A current NZ registration with DAPAANZ as a registered practitioner.
   » broad practice practising within the Addiction Intervention Competency Framework.
   » knowledge of the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and bi culturalism.
Using the principles of client recovery , and drawing support via community resources, you will assess and actively support clients to achieve their recovery goals. Developing comprehensive addiction assessments and intervention plans , the practitioner will deliver both individual and group clinical addiction therapy sessions and be actively supporting the development of an addiction service within K?hui T? Kaha.
Compassionate, caring, non-judgemental and with a supportive attitude , you will be passionate about achieving improved health results . Having great flexibility to work with a varying client base, you will recognise the unique circumstances and ultimately the needs of each individual.
Naturally, you will have the capability to identify family needs and provide appropriate support, coupled with a professional manner which sees you putting others at ease, building rapport and high trust relationships. Working with a large range of external health providers, community groups, agencies clinical services forums and associations , you will be building on your already established professional networks.
Registered Health Professional – Occupational Therapist, Kaupapa M?ori Forensic Service:
   » Registered Health Professional – Occupational Therapist with current NZ registration.
   » An knowledge of tikanga and Te Ao M?ori and knowledge of Kaupapa M?ori.
   » Be confident at making decisions in potential crisis situations.
   » Demonstrated clinical practice of at least two years, preferably within the mental health sector.
this function is for an practiced Mental Health professional (Occupational therapist) working within our Kaupapa M?ori Forensic service. Using recovery-located principles and practice; your function will be to actively Tangata whai i te ora to achieve their goals whilst providing a calm, safe and reliable environment for their recovery journey. Providing clinical input into assessment planning and care of your clients, you will be ensuring services are delivered safely and appropriately. Conducting individual assessments, you will develop effective and approachable relationships with clients and their families, carrying out joint case work and ensuring effective and timely communication with colleagues in regard to plans.
Knowledge and or practice of non-government organisations would be highly desirable . In addition, as the prosperous candidate, you will need to have sufficient clinical skills and knowledge in mental health services to be able to take a lead function in quality improvement; developing and delivering a service-specific strategic plan and mentoring and teaching of staff.
All positions require an knowledge and practical application of the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi, practice, or knowledge of NGO settings, and already established links within the local community. All positions will see a real focus on developing individual relationships with clients, and their families, call on personal mana to develop Whakawhanaungatanga, creating a sense of belonging, family connections and kinship.
