practiced Policy Planner:FuelAgencyJob description:Job Descriptionpracticed Policy Planner - District PlannerWe have an opportunity for an practiced Planner, with a minimum of 4-5 years' practice, to join our team, providing high level planning advice to the public, consultants and staff, and supporting the Manager and other Planners in the delivery of the District Plan work stream. The Whang?rei District Plan is undergoing a rolling review process so there is a steady flow of work with new and interesting topics regularly emerging. This is a great chance to make your mark with regular opportunities for public consultation, report writing, evidence preparation and appeal mediation through the rolling review process. Some of the main projects that the team is currently working on include: » Reviewing the housing and business capacity in the District in conformity with National Policy Statement on Urban Development 2020 as Whang?rei has been identified as tier 2 urban area. » Resolving appeals on the Urban and Services Plan Changes. » Preparing plan changes on topics such as Biodiversity, Esplanade Priority Areas, Natural Hazards and Hazardous Substances. » Consulting with local iwi and hap? on upcoming Sites and Areas of Significance to M?ori and Tangata Whenua plan changes. » Implementing the National Planning Standards and transitioning to an E-plan. » Collaborating with Council's Strategy Team on non-statutory structure plans and place making programmes. We are seeking for someone who enjoys both working in a small team and autonomously, as well as contributing to the wider WDC whanau. If you are a Planner and meet the criteria below, please apply today, we'd love to hear from you: » a recognised qualification in Resource Management Planning at the tertiary degree level » confident in knowledge of the RMA and LGA processes » comprehensive knowledge of plan changes and resource consent processes as well as proven interpersonal expertise » capability to achieve collaboration and cooperation » competent advising and writing expertise » capability to mentor more junior planners in the team » eligibility to gain full membership to the New Zealand Planning Institute » NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
