Te Ngira: Institute for Population Research
Part time function
Ko wai m?tou? – Who are we?
Te Ngira – Institute for Population Research is a research institute situated within the Division of Arts, Law, Psychology and Social Sciences (ALPSS) at the University of Waikato. We carry out world-leading research in four interconnected research platforms: M?ori and Indigenous Populations; Population Health and Equity; Population Change; and Migration.
Ng? k?rero m? te t?ranga – About the function
This position will support Te Ngira research staff in obtaining, managing and developing research projects which in turn will expand Te Ngira’s reputation, profile and delivery on research excellence. Of critical importance will be the development of plans to grow externally funded research activities and to supervise the connected finances and budgets.
In this position you will report to the Director of Te Ngira.
Ko wai koe? – Who are you?
You will have a significant post graduate degree or equivalent management practice in a research environment. You will have an established and proven track record in project management of research projects including seeking external funding, managing research earnings and contributing to research outputs.
Your broad network and stakeholder relationship practice, including effective engagement with M?ori or Pacific communities, will help you be prosperous in this position.
You will be a team player that is self-motivated and able to work independently with a commitment to attention to detail and meeting deadlines including being able to work under pressure. Information technology is also essential that you are a critical thinker and problem solver.

This is a continuing part time position (18.75 hours per week with flexibility around days and hours of work) and offers a income range of $61,698 to $74,256 per annum, pro rata.
