We deliver to a population of approximately 329,000 people over the Otago and Southland regions, through two main centres, Dunedin and Invercargill. We proudly provide top quality healthcare to our population. There are approximately 1400 births per year at Southland Hospital, Invercargill and a further 200 in the surrounding rural areas. Our department consists of a 14 room maternity unit with four birthing rooms, a level two six cot neonatal unit and a dedicated Women's Health Unit. The service is supported by a team of practiced midwives, obstetrics, gynaecology and colposcopy nurses. As a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist for us, you will have a personal commitment to providing an effective and efficient inpatient and outpatient service and an unequivocal dedication to working as part of a tight knit team. This position offers you a broad practice in all aspects of Obstetric and Gynaecology Medicine and with that spearhead optimum health and wellbeing to our Southland community. You will have a demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development and to providing training to students at all levels.
