Scrum Lead - Working in Digital Channels

The Ministry is currently improving its delivery of its products and services to its front-line people through Lean, Agile and Systems Thinking approaches.
MSD are moving to an improved client value aligned delivery model. This fundamentally means re-aligning back-end change delivery models with Agile and Systems Thinking concepts.
This change is currently aligning with the language, functions and practices from the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
MSD is seeking practiced Scrum Leads to work as part of newly forming portfolios to help new cross-functional business teams to get up and running. These teams are new to Agile ways of working and require assistance with knowledge what Agile is and how to operate in a scaled Agile (SAFe) environment. This will include helping understand the language, their functions in this new environment including Product Ownership and further into Product Management and finally a good knowledge of the practices. You will lead them through this establishment process.
This work will help establish the teams to the point where they can operate on a regular cadence in key events/ceremonies such as everyday stand-up, iteration planning/execution, programme increment planning plus how to define their work (features), break down and define the work further (stories) and manage their day to day work.
Part of a newly forming Agile practice, the ideal candidate will be practiced with scrum having not only worked with scrum teams previously but established new scrum teams. Knowledge of SAFe required and significant certification highly recommended. A positive can-do attitude is essential, as is the capability to work with business focused stakeholders.
Key deliverables include:
   » facilitating stand up, planning and retrospective sessions
   » working with Product Owners and Product Managers to understand and develop:
   » ins and outs of scrum
   » delivery and feature located roadmaps (including how to define features)
   » design of the work for value located delivery
   » knowledge on how to prioritise their work in backlogs
   » working with teams to understand:
   » ins and outs of scrum
   » design their work for value located deliver (stories for features) alongside business analysts
   » backlog refinement with teams
   » facilitate initiative located reporting
Note: There will be many opportunities to seize coaching moments in the Agile mindset.

Key attributes and expertise that We are pursuing include:
   » good knowledge of the SAFe Framework and Agile thinking/concepts
   » an knowledge of traditional delivery methods (e.g. waterfall) in order to better translate current world views to our new ways of working delivery models
   » patience, knowledge and flexible in your approach - this is as much of a people change opportunity as Information technology is Agile concepts, practices and tools, therefore Information technology will require the right attitude to ensure your work connects with people
   » excellent relationship, facilitation and communication expertise - capability to lead, influence and secure the right results for our people in a highly complex environment
   » dedicated commitment to achieving results with a transparent, inclusive, collaborative and practical approach
