Surveillance agent:Maori Pacific JobsJob description:Job DescriptionSurveillance agentWellington and Auckland The NZSIS Surveillance Unit is seeking dynamic, confident and committed people from all walks of life who believe they may be suited to being a Surveillance agent. About the function: As a Surveillance agent you'll work as part of our diverse team using unique operational tradecraft and technology to obtain intelligence of value to enable national security investigations. To do this, you'll conduct foot, static and mobile surveillance against subjects of security interest. Often this will be done in dynamic and challenging environments. Who We are seeking for: People with an appetite for new challenges, who are street smart and committed to making New Zealand safe and secure. Good teamwork expertise are a must, as well as being comfortable working alone. You must be able to multi-task and adapt effectively within fast-paced and variable environments. Self-motivation and having the capability to manage long periods of inactivity, whilst remaining able to respond quickly often to unpredictable periods of intense activity are essential. You will be a resilient individual who can deal with stress. Being a Surveillance agent requires you to be able drive at an exceptionally high standard, communicate with your team mates, assess ground conditions and maintain coverage of a subject all at the same time. This can be both mentally and physically demanding. The function entails working unsociable hours with potential travel at short notice. This can be demanding on your personal life so you will need an knowledge and/or supportive home environment to make this job work. We need you to be physically fit with no impediments to sitting or being active for long periods of time. Thinking of applying? You'll also need a clean, full, current NZ drivers licence, have a good sense of direction and be unfazed navigating yourself around unfamiliar towns. This is a multi-level position allowing for career progression in the future. The starting income for this function is usually at the beginning of the Level 1 range, unless you have previous practice in a similar function.
