TAPAC, established in 2003, is a vibrant and busy not-for-profit community performing arts hub located in Western Springs, Auckland. TAPAC's key areas of focus are the building of performing arts communities and performing arts education.
TAPAC's vision is to enrich lives through the performing arts. By focusing on developing a depth and diversity of creative talent and communities, TAPAC aims to use the performing arts to enable greater connection, participation and empowerment of Auckland's people.
TAPAC is seeking a collaborative, innovative, entrepreneurial and inspiring leader who can ensure that TAPAC remains significant, resilient and sustainable in a constantly evolving environment.
There is great scope to continue to build our in-house and external programmes, particularly those that benefit people who otherwise would not have access to the performing arts.
This senior position requires broad knowledge of the performing arts, exceptional management and organisational expertise and an knowledge of the delicate balance required to achieve excellent artistic and financial results.
Reporting to the Board, the Executive Director works to achieve and implement the overarching vision and direction of TAPAC set out in the Strategic Plan. Key tasks include building the brand of TAPAC, managing stakeholder relationships, developing audiences, superviseing operations and increasing the financial vicapability and sustaincapability of TAPAC.

   » Demonstrated capability to prosperously lead an organisation innovatively, strategically and sustainably in a changing sector
   » Strong knowledge of the opportunities and challenges facing the performing arts industry and an capability to develop, communicate, implement, sell and fundraise around a strategic vision
   » Excellent financial analysis, research and management expertise to drive organisational performance. Strong business acumen, preferably with an knowledge of the charitable and not-for-profit sector
   » practice in developing and guiding the delivery of prosperous performing arts programmes
   » Proven record in collaboration and forming strong strategic alliances. Proactively developing, managing and engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders
   » An capability to manage staff and create a positive, ethical, accountable and safe organisational culture taking a relationships-located approach with cultural and emotional intelligence
   » A high level of communication expertise, including issues and crisis management.
   » knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety rules and the capability to interpret statutory regulations
   » capability to build brand consciousness and recognition for TAPAC
   » practice in venue management/operations preferred, but not essential
   » Values alignment to TAPAC, particularly the vision for enriching lives through the performing arts and a strong belief that performing arts are fundamental to learning about different cultures, a healthy society and our quality of life
