The Gallery's ambitious exhibitions, events and programmes attract tens of thousands of visitors annually. The Gallery regularly tours exhibitions programmes all over New Zealand and to key locations in Australia. How to submit the application: The function If you are a positive, energetic, organised, and capable educator and manager then you may be exactly what We are seeking for! This full-time function requires the prosperous candidate to lead our brilliant and creative Education team, which currently consists of 3 part-time functions: 2 Educators and a School Liaison/Educator. You will supervise the planning and delivery of Education programmes from early childhood through to secondary school groups and other education providers (tertiary and community groups) during term time. You will also supervise our popular TAG Art Studios for ages 4 to 14 years during school holidays, thedevelopment of our new outreachinitiative, and develop practical art workshops designed for adults at beginner- to immediate-level. Your knowledge and knowledge of Te Wh?riki and The National Curriculum and your capability to engage, inspire and support the learning of tamariki and rangatahi within its framework, will be an advantage to this position. This is a challenging and varied function for a creative person who has previous practice delivering classes and workshops with young people of all ages and adults. An art qualification at tertiary level and proven art making practice in an education environment is essential. A practical knowledge of M?ori cultural and values, tikanga and te reo, and the capability to apply these in your teaching practice is also essential. You will be computer literate and understand H&S in the workplace, particularly in relation to the Vulnerable Children's Act (2014). Supported by the curatorial team, the Education Manager will be skilled at translating ideas about visual art to a broad range of learners. The incumbent applicant is required to develop and maintain a sound knowledge of historical, modern, and contemporary art, particularly by artists from New Zealand. this function is perfect for someone who is willing to learn, adapt and explore innovative approaches to learning about art. To achieve success and be effective with planning and delivery, the Education Manager must bring to the function an knowledge of a range of pedagogical approaches, including inquiry-located learning. This is a permanent full-time function (32 - 40 hours/week). While work will typically be undertaken Monday to Friday during normal hours, the prosperous candidate will at times be required to work outside of these timeframes in order to deliver learning programmes or evening programmes on weekdays and/or weekends.
