Live and work in the beautiful, tourist and outdoor adventure, thermal pools town of Hanmer Springs, North Canterbury, and its surrounds. Life is easy and Information technology is a great community. It’s small, its busy, it has most of the amenities of larger places and there is always something going on. The job involves painting, plastering, and decorating work, including preparation, maintenance, and repairs for a range of domestic, non-domestic, farming, and commercial buildings. Accommodation is available in a three bedroomed staff house at a reasonable rent. This is a permanent, full-time job, 40 hours a week Monday to Friday. To be prosperous with this job you need: · significant painting-decorating practice · significant plastering practice · A good expertise of the equipment, materials, methods, practices, and tools used in the painting trade · expertise and capability to mix paints and to match colours · Hold a current, unencumbered New Zealand driver’s licence · Be prepared to undergo a police check · Site Safe accreditation preferable · A commitment to Health and Safety in the workplace The person We are seeking for needs to be: · Able to take and to follow directions · Able to work unsupervised and to work as a member of the team · Have a strong work ethic with a strong customer focus and good communication expertise · An eye for detail and pride in your work · Able to deliver a professional result, within a given timeframe · Be able to meet the physical demands of the function, which includes lifting, bending, climbing ladders/working at heights You must be a New Zealander, NZ resident or hold a valid work visa.
