MfE’s Policy Implementation and Delivery (PID) r?p? leads the planning and management of policy implementation, bringing together integrated partnerships iwi/M?ori, partner agencies, local government, councils, industry, and the scientific community to achieve collaborative, transformational delivery of environmental reforms.
Within PID, our Investments Directorate brings value to our partnerships through direct investment, on the ground project support and connecting our partners to other opportunities and resources. MfE administers funding totalling approximately $490 million under the Jobs for Nature programme to benefit the environment, people and the regions, as part of the COVID-19 recoverypackage.

We are calling for a Senior Analyst to join our Strategic & Operational Improvement team. Our team’s function is a varied one, encompassing ownership of the Funding process, systems, reporting, evaluation, assurance, policy and communications.
We provide a robust monitoring and evaluation programme to advance knowledge ofecosystems managementand landmanagement effectson environmental results and tell the story of the success of Jobs for Nature funding recipients.
As a Senior Analyst, you will contribute to and influence across the process, assurance, policy and communications areas with an emphasis on evaluation. This will include undertaking framework development, evaluation reports, contract management, process and control reviews, and answering various information requests from governance entities or central government partners.

Our ideal candidate will bring:
   » broad knowledge of research principles, practices and methodologies as well as
   » a background in assurance, risk or governance with practice in applying a risk-located approach to work plan development
   » significant working practice in planning and implementing qualitative and quantitative research projects related to outcome evaluation and performance measurement
   » solid procurement and project management practice
   » solid knowledge of environmental policy, research and development, funding programs and available indicator data
   » practiced and adept at delivering quality work in a fast-paced environment
   » strong communication and relationship management expertise - you quickly build trust and can produce credible advice on complex technical matters
   » cultural capcapability in te ao Maori and an applied knowledge of Treaty of Waitangi in context of resource management and evaluation
Most importantly you will be passionate about looking for realistic and effective ways of ensuring that our policies and processes lead to achievement of our targeted environmental results.
Wh?nuitanga Utu ?-Tau | income range
income range for this function is $105,802 to $128,424 pa. Appointment within this range will be located on expertise and practice.
