There are two positions available: » Permanent position » 12 months fixed-term position About our group Education is key to our well-being, social cohesion, and citizenship. We provide strategic policy advice to enable an inclusive education system which contributes to the expertise and knowledge needed by people for social, cultural, economic and environmental wellbeing. You’ll join our policy community and be located in the Education System Policy Group – a group with a strong policy culture that works on issues affecting a huge system that directly impacts the lives of all New Zealanders. The Investing in Educational Wellbeing team works across the Ministry to ensure our strategic investment priorities and Budget approach deliver improved wellbeing results for children and young people in education. Our work recognises that child and youth wellbeing is linked to the wellbeing of parents, caregivers, families and wh?nau. We are often involved in cross-government work streams and work with non-government stakeholders. Our team prioritises the development of learner and wh?nau centred advice to improve practices and results for those that are traditionally under-served by the education system such as M?ori, Pacific, disabled, rainbow, refugee and migrant learners and wh?nau. We have a high visibility work programme, and we work on issues affecting a huge system and directly impacting the lives of New Zealanders. The Investing in Educational Wellbeing team is part of the Education System Policy Group. We are a team with shared values, each leading work across a wide variety of work streams.
