In 2021 Depot Artspace launched a new creative careers programme, Wayfind Creative, supported by the Ministry of Social Development and Ministry of Culture and Heritage. This pliot programme is focused on supporting creatives build a sustainable career and we are proud to be part of this new government initiative to help creatives succeed. Depot Artspace is now looking for a Manager to develop and deliver these programmes and to continue the essential work of supporting creatives into employment and sustainable careers. The programmes offer a range of services including career guidance, job seeking advice, mentoring support and professional development workshops, with the results of employment, self-sustaincapability and a more resilient creative economy. The Depot is a multi-disciplinary arts space in Auckland with a gallery and a music studio as well as workshop and training spaces. We have an amazing team of creative consultants working on these programmes and we try to offer as many opportunities as possible to the creatives we work with. Creative Careers and Employment Manager The Depot Artspace Creative Careers and Employment Programmes is seeking a special person to join our team. Ideally with employment placement and career guidance expertise and/ or a creative and education background.We are seeking for someone to help us shape the future of these programmes, who brings innovative ideas and is proactive and responsive to change. Creative Careers and Employment Manager will work in a collaborative, caring and driven team. You will bring your own leadership abilities and personality to the function and value the supportive and dynamic work environment. Professional expertise Required » You will ideally have previous practice in the employment sector and familiarity with New Zealand's creative industries and/ or education sector. » capability to manage and support a team » capability to manage government contracts and achieve key performance targets » Strong financial management - setting and meeting budgets and reaching targets » Excellent communication expertise and stakeholder relationship management » Strong leadership abilities and capability to visualize future opportunities » Strong interpersonal and communication expertise » Knowledge and interest in the creative industries » capability to think strategically » capability to develop partnerships and relationships with key organisations and agencies » Work in a team environment and have an knowledge of community development » Microsoft Office - Word, Outlook, Excel Professional expertise Desired but not essential: » Career/vocational guidance and mentoring Personal expertise Required » Warm, engaging and professional » Interest in improving lives and supporting creatives become more sustainable » Work with genuine care and knowledge of our client's needs and circumstances » Excellent communication and interpersonal expertise » Excellent organization, time management and administration expertise » Able to work collaboratively and independently » capability to see the big picture while delivering the day to day. » Adaptable and flexible The position is 4-5 days/ week, depending on the applicant, located in Devonport, Auckland.
