Ko t? m?tou mahi – Our function
The Senior Advisor provides operational support and advice to the Te Kurutao Principal Advisors in Te Whanganui a Tara region to engage and support key M?ori partner relationships in the increasing landscape of urban development in the region. This includes the Large Scale Project (LSP) and the Specified Development Project (SDP) in northern Porirua and development prospects in the Kapiti Coast area.
This may include providing strategic advice and support for iwi and hap? partnerships and engagement to other Principal Advisors in Te Puku Ikaroa.
Ng? p?manawatanga ?u – What you will bring
To be prosperous in this function the Senior Advisor will have:
   » networks and relationships with tangata whenua and key public sector stakeholders in the Te Whanganui a Tara region
   » highly developed expertise in written communication including report writing
   » clear and well-articulated written and oral communication expertise (M?ori and English)
   » a background in community engagement with iwi and r?p? M?ori
   » excellent interpersonal and relationship management expertise
   » a strong commitment to quality community and environmental results
   » enthusiasm for working within a multi-disciplinary team.
   » advanced insight into Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Crown – M?ori relations
   » expertise of K?inga Ora’s legislative responsibilities to M?ori
   » practice in public service legislation, structure, governance, processes and systems
   » a significant tertiary qualification
   » demonstrated capability to identify, collect, organise and analyse data to provide information and enable decision-making
   » demonstrated capability to clearly and concisely convey information and ideas in both oral and written communication
   » the behavioural characteristics and expertise required to work in a matrixed environment.
