Both the supply chain management and information systems disciplines are housed in the Business School’sDepartment of Business Information Systems (BIS). The BIS Department is a dynamic and ambitious team of academics actively engaged in scholarly conversations and passionate about teaching. We have an established PhD programme, are experiencing a growing interest in supply chain management in the Bachelor of Business degree and our new master’s qualification in supply chain management.
The function
We have a permanent, full-time opportunity for aLecturer/Senior Lecturer of Supply Chain Managementto develop their career in teaching, research and service. We are particularly interested in candidates who would contribute to our teaching in any of the following areas: supply chain management, operations management, procurement management and logistics management. The capability to teach data analytics, enterprise systems or project management would be an added advantage.
We offer an excellent research environment, with generous research support. You will be expected to publish actively in your specialised field. Research is well supported within the School and the Faculty also offers a variety of contereliable research funds. We embrace practice-led, as well as research-informed, approaches to teaching where the student practice is optimised. Information technology is also expected that over time the prosperous candidate will seek external research funding, engage with government, business, professional bodies and the community, and contribute to School/Faculty activities.
You will have an open, engaging and collaborative attitude that is flexible to changing requirements. You will enhance the positive energy within the School, value diversity and enjoy working inclusively!

Qualification:
   » A PhD in supply chain management or related discipline.
Research and Scholarship:
   » Research interests should be in one (or more) of the following areas: supply chain management, operations management, procurement management and logistics management.
   » Early career academic candidates will have a clear publication plan and strategy and be able to demonstrate the capcapability to develop a strong research profile.
   » More practiced candidates will already have a proven research track record with quality publications and ideally also success in external funding bids.
Teaching and Learning:
   » Early career academic candidates will ideally have at least some tutoring or other teaching adjunct practice at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels.
   » More practiced candidates will have previous lecturing practice, evidence of curriculum development and practice supervising Masters and/or PhD students.
   » practice in innovative teaching practices would form an important input into teaching.
In addition, expertise and practice of Tikanga M?ori would be advantageous.
Start Date: The prosperous candidate will ideally start in January/February 2022 .Interviews are expected to take place in early December.
Appointment level and income will be commensurate with the skills and practice of the prosperous applicant.
