About the function
The Corporate Communications Manager will provide enterprise-wide strategic communications leadership abilities and advice to support Te Tari Taiwhenua in achieving its results and priorities. Reporting to the General Manager Communications and playing an important part in the wider Communications leadership abilities Team, this function leads a busy, engaged and high-performing team of communications advisors and senior communications advisors.

Te Manu Karere (Communications) sits within He Pou Aronui (Organisational Capcapability and Services), a branch dedicated to supporting the rest of the Department to succeed by providing corporate services that help business groups and people within DIA to make the best contribution to New Zealand.

About you
This is a critical and highly valued function for the Department. To be prosperous in this function you will have an impressive track record of leading and coaching a communications team, influencing senior leaders, achieving measurable results and creating opportunities.
You will be practiced at providing advice on complex communications and media issues, building and maintaining trusted relationships, and working across diverse portfolios simultaneously. Ideally, you will have an knowledge of the political process and the public service, as well as Te Tiriti o Waitangi and te ao M?ori.
