Te Taura Whiri i te Reo M?ori
Revitalisation of te reo M?ori is at the heart of what we do here at Te Taura Whiri i te Reo M?ori. Our mission is to give effect to the status of te reo M?ori as an official language, to promote te reo M?ori as an ordinary means of communication and as a living language, and to lead the coordination of the implementation of Te Maihi Karauna.
We aim to create an environment where the Public Sector, private sector and wider community organisations are enabled to help revitalise te reo M?ori. We want all New Zealanders to value the M?ori language as part of who we are, what makes us a nation and is a living language for everyone to enjoy and celebrate - everywhere, every way, everyone and every day.
We are seeking for people with the strategic drive and passion for te reo M?ori to come join us in leading the coordination of implementing Te Maihi Karauna (Crown M?ori Language Strategy).

As the Director, Te Amo you will lead the Policy and Development team, (Research and Evaluation, M?ori Language Services and Policy Advice).
As a member of our Senior leadership abilities team you will lead by your enthusiam for the kaupapa, your commitment to seeing opportunities and following them through. You will thrive on being in a team, and live by the mantra that we are better together.
You will have a strong background in te reo, and tikanga maori, with an knowledge of working for Government in a Crown agency. You do not have to have to have worked as a translator, but will have an knowledge of the function superviseing the certification of proficiency in te reo, plus translating. You will supervise the Research and Development function, investigating the link between our language and our world.
You will approach your work in a project management style looking for opportunities to increase your skill base.
To be considered for this function you must have a legal right to work in New Zealand and you will need to complete an Application Form.
