Business Analyst About the team Our Data Management and Information Delivery unit in our Insights Group is growing and We are seeking for a Business Analyst to help us deliver on our work programme. We are a busy team who work together to ensure that the information the Ministry collects is made available to others in a form that is useful and appropriately structured. The Data Management and Information Delivery (DMaID) team is a critical part of Insights and the wider Ministry. We are the kaitiaki (guardians) of data, responsible for data stewardship by leading practice to ensure that privacy, ethics, and access is fair and transparent. We develop and maintain business rules and provide advice on data quality. About the function We are pursuing a Business Analyst to join the DMaID team within the Strategy and Insights Portfolio. this function will get involved with different business groups, working to understand and identify their needs and lead solution focused options. We have a complex work programme and you will need to be able to provide high quality advice on business issues in a range of areas. You will be working as part of an Agile product delivery team that is focused on making a difference in the lives of New Zealanders. We are seeking for a clear thinker with a natural attention to detail. You should feel comfortable working 2-3 sprints ahead of the development team to ensure that all user stories are well defined and fully fleshed out in preparation for upcoming sprints. Job responsibilities: » Engage with stakeholders, delivery team members and vendors to fully understand, communicate and document process, workflows, requirements, and solutions. » Support the Scrum Lead with all aspects of the product lifecycle. » Analyse and understand business needs and translate them into fit for purpose user stories/requirements with clear acceptance criteria. » Provide day to day support around our current product and services. » Providing a user focussed mentality to the new services. » Facilitate requirements gathering workshops with Subject Matter Experts. » Collaborate with a range of stakeholders to ensure user stories are understood and solution results are achieved. » Excellent communication expertise with the capability to translate data into actionable insights. » Provide reporting and feedback from and to stakeholders, users, and team members. practice you'll bring: » practice working as a Business Analyst in an Agile environment. » practice creating user stories. » practice defining business requirements. » practice with design principles and practices. » Excellent communication expertise.
