This includes outpatient consultations, inpatient services, renal transplant services and a thorough pre-dialysis service. The service maintains a strong focus and commitment to home located dialysis, both peritoneal and haemodialysis. A satellite centre are located at Kenepuru and Hutt Valley. The Incentre dialysis unit at Wellington hospital service the increasing demand for assisted haemodialysis. Outpatient clinics are provided at Wellington, Hutt, Kenepuru and Kapiti hospitals. Renal transplantation services have expanded by increasing live donor transplants. Transplant services are provided for the central region including MidCentral, Whanganui, and Hawkes Bay DHBs. Renal inpatient care is provided on Ward 5 North, Level 5 WRH building. Ward 5 North has 40 beds with the renal, medical oncology, radiation oncology and haematology co-located. The ward provides a full renal medical and nursing service including diagnostic investigations, peritoneal dialysis and renal transplantation, as well as general medical, surgical and nursing care for renal patients. Acute inpatient services operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. expertise AND practice - Vocationally registered in general medicine (internal medicine) with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) - FRACP or equivalent and be able to register for vocational registration with the MCNZ - Inpatient and Outpatient practice, including oversight of a large dialysis dependent group (essential) - Inpatient management of post operative transplant practice desirable - significant training and practice ABOUT THE ORGANISATION Capital and Coast DHB (CCDHB) is located centrally in Wellington and has over 6,000 full-time equivalent staff, making us one of the major employers in the Wellington region. CCDHB operates two hospitals - Wellington Regional Hospital in Newtown and Kenepuru Hospital in Porirua - as well as the Kapiti Health Centre at Paraparaumu. The Mental Health, Addiction and Intellectual Discapability Service (MHAIDS) spans three DHBs - Wairarapa, Hutt Valley and Capital and Coast DHB's and includes local, regional, and national services. The local MHAIDS services are provided from multiple sites within the 3DHB sub-region - greater Wellington, Hutt Valley and Wairarapa.
